OBP 425 × 0.12 = 51 points added.
Estimate. ÖSYM computes standard scores from each year's distribution, so no calculator can give the official score before results. The coefficients here are common approximations from recent years, with net = correct minus a quarter of wrong. Coefficient set: 2026
How YKS scores are calculated
YKS has three sessions: TYT for everyone, AYT for the SAY, EA and SÖZ score types, and YDT for the DİL type. Each test produces a net, correct answers minus a quarter of wrong answers. Nets are weighted by coefficients and added to a base of 100, giving scores between 100 and 500. The high-school grade point average, OBP, is added at placement. ÖSYM derives the real coefficients from the year's standard score distribution; this tool uses the commonly published approximations.
Steps
- 1 Pick the score type. The table shows only the tests that count for it; TYT rows count for every type.
- 2 Enter correct and wrong answers per test. The net is shown immediately and the TYT and type scores update.
- 3 Enter your diploma grade for the OBP contribution; tick the box if you were placed last year, which halves it.
The net rule
Four wrong answers cancel one correct answer, so a test with 30 correct and 8 wrong has a net of 28. Blanks neither add nor subtract. This is why guessing is only worth it when you can eliminate at least one or two options.
TYT and the type scores
The TYT score weights Turkish and mathematics at about 3.3 per net and social sciences and science at about 3.4, so full nets in every test give 500. For SAY, EA, SÖZ and DİL the TYT tests count at roughly 1.32 and 1.36 per net and the AYT or YDT tests at about 2.8 to 3.3, again adding up to 500 at full marks. The exact values shift slightly every year.
OBP and the placement score
OBP is the diploma grade times five, so 85 becomes 425. Twelve percent of it, 51 points in this case, is added to the score for placement. If you were placed in a programme the previous year, only six percent is added. The placement score is what universities rank.
Why the result is an estimate
ÖSYM converts raw nets to standard scores using the mean and standard deviation of all candidates in that year, then rescales. Until results are published nobody knows those parameters, so every calculator approximates them from earlier years. Expect the official score to differ by a few points, more in years when the test difficulty changes.
