Remove or keep pages

The file is processed on your own device and is never uploaded.

Two ways to say the same thing

A blank page after a scan, a cover sheet nobody needs, the four pages of terms at the end - most page removal is tidying. But sometimes the shorter list is the pages you want to keep, and typing three numbers beats typing forty. This tool takes either instruction, and switching between them changes nothing else.

Using it in three steps

  1. 1 Drop the PDF. The page count appears so you know what you are working with.
  2. 2 Choose remove or keep, then type the pages: 2 for one page, 4-9 for a run, 12- for everything from there to the end.
  3. 3 Press Apply and download. The new page count tells you at a glance whether the range did what you meant.

What happens to a page you remove

It is genuinely gone from the new file, not hidden. Some editors leave a removed page in the document and simply stop showing it, which is why a "deleted" page can reappear in another reader or turn up in a text search. Here the output is built from the pages you kept, so a page that was dropped has no representation in the result at all. If the page held something confidential, that distinction is the whole point.

Removing everything is refused

A PDF with no pages is not a small PDF, it is a broken file - most readers refuse to open it at all. So a range that would take out every page stops with a message instead of handing you something unusable. The same care applies to ranges pointing past the end of the document: the tool says the range does not fit rather than silently trimming it to something you did not ask for.

Removing pages - frequently asked questions

No. The file you dropped is only read; the result is a separate download with a new name. Nothing on your disk is overwritten, so if the range was wrong you simply try again with the same original.

Compress PDF Rebuild a PDF with a tidier structure and no metadata. Text-heavy files shrink; documents made of large scans barely change, and the tool says so.

Watermark PDF Add a diagonal text watermark like DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL to a PDF. Choose the wording and how strong it looks; the file is never uploaded.

Other PDF tools

Merge PDF Combine several PDF files into one, in the order you choose. Each page keeps its own size, and the files are never uploaded anywhere.
Split PDF Split a PDF into separate files: every page on its own, or only the pages you name. The parts arrive together in one ZIP and nothing is uploaded.
Reorder PDF Pages Move pages into the order you want while looking at them. Every page is drawn as a thumbnail, so you rearrange what you see, not numbers.
Rotate PDF Turn sideways or upside-down pages the right way up. Rotate the whole document or just the pages you name, and the change is saved into the file.
Image to PDF Put photos and scans into a single PDF, in the order you choose. Pick a page size or let each page match its image, and nothing is uploaded.
