Sideways pages come from the same few places: a scanner fed a page the wrong way, a phone camera that guessed the orientation, a spreadsheet printed to landscape inside a portrait report. Turning it in your reader helps for a minute and is forgotten the moment the file is sent, because that rotation was never written down.

Using it in three steps

1. 1 Drop the PDF you want to straighten.
2. 2 Pick 90, 180 or 270 degrees, and leave the pages box empty to turn the whole document.
3. 3 Press Rotate and download. Open the result once to confirm the direction before you send it on.

Rotation adds, it does not replace

Every PDF page already carries a rotation value, often set by the scanner without anyone noticing. Asking for 90 degrees here turns the page 90 degrees from where it is now, rather than forcing it to an absolute 90. That is why a page already lying sideways comes out upright with one press, and why the same press applied twice returns you to where you started rather than doing nothing.

Why turning it in a reader is not enough

A reader's rotate button changes your view, not the document. Send the file and the recipient sees it sideways again; print it and it comes out sideways too. Here the rotation is written into the page, so it travels with the file — which is exactly what you want for anything that will be printed, signed, filed, or read by someone who will not think to rotate it themselves.
