Should I set the number of teams or the team size?

Either one. Leave the size box empty and the number of teams is used; fill it in and it takes over, with the team count worked out from how many people you have.

Does it balance teams by skill or level?

No, and that is deliberate. The split is purely random, which is what makes it feel fair for classrooms, warm-up games and office activities. For skill-based teams, sort people yourself first.

How do I leave somebody out of this round?

Remove them with the cross next to their name, or open the bulk editor and delete the line. Everything is kept in your browser, so you can paste the full list back whenever they return.

Can I share the teams with everyone?

Use Copy result to put the whole line-up on your clipboard as plain text, one team per block, ready to paste into a chat, an email or a whiteboard without any formatting getting in the way.
